6 Steps to Increase Your Energy and Feel Great
Many of us feel depleted of energy at times. We are too busy to slow down enough to realize what we need and we rely on things that only give us a temporary boost. Taking care of ourselves becomes lowest on our to do list and we feel sluggish.
Here are 6 steps to get you on your way to increased energy and vitality
Drink more water - If your body is short on fluids, you may feel fatigued. A quick and easy way to prevent this is to make sure you are keeping consistently hydrated throughout the day. If your urine is fairly clear then you are hydrated, dark yellow generally means you need to increase your intake.
Breathe - take time during the day to have a moment to yourself, take a few deep belly breaths, filling your belly as you inhale and contracting your belly as you exhale. Feel the energy come back into your body.
Meditate - whether it’s one minute or five, taking time to meditate can clear your energy creating space for vitality. Here’s a link to a 1:30 second meditation for increased energy.
Move your body - engage in physical activity and feel the energy begin to move. Even a brisk walk can help to release stress hormones that can make you feel energized. Get outside - Being in nature restores our natural energy supply and helps to reduce stress. A light walk in nature can do wonders when you are feeling drained.
Clear your space - Smudging is an ancient practice, burning sage, palo santo or other herbs to clear your space. It neutralizes positive charge and releases negative ions into your environment, creating a lighter, energized feeling.
